Improve your Golf Game by Learning The Secrets of The Golf C

Grips are the least expensive yet one of the most important parts of a golf club. Remember, the grip is the only part of the clubs that you make contact with, so it’s extremely important to make sure that you have the right size and the right quality of material. If you use a club grip that is too small, there is a good chance that the club will twist towards the target just before impact and cause the clubface to be closed. This often happens when the golfer unconsciously grips harder just before impact, resulting in the twist. If you use a club grip that is too big for you, your physical grip will often break loose at an off center impact causing the club face to be open

OK, so what grips are right for you? Believe it or not, that depends more that just how big your hands are! Hand size, which is easy to measure, will determine the final grip size that you should have on your club. The size of your golf glove is an easy way to tell how big your grip should be. Basically grips come in Ladies size, which is also a Men’s small. Then there is regular, and midsize, and jumbo.

But here’s SECRET number ONE about grips!! Grips have an internal core that is different between styles of grips!! And here’s SECRET NUMBER TWO – the end of the golf shaft comes in different dimensions between styles of shafts!! What this means is that even if your golf glove size determines you need a particular grip size, you can still go wrong if you put that size with a smaller inner core on a shaft with a large outside dimension. So you see, it’s the combination of golf core size and shaft OD that REALLY determines the final true size of the grip!!!

You’d be amazed at how many golf club makers sell people clubs without even MENTIONING the grip! And you’ll find that most (if not all) of the “click and ship” websites don’t even take core size and shaft OD into consideration AT ALL!! They just ask you how big your glove is, and then stick a cheap grip on the end of the shaft and that’s it. PLEASE don’t let this happen, because you’ll pay for it in your golf game!!

Last, but certainly not least, you need to understand a very important piece of advice CHANGE YOUR GOLF GRIPS OFTEN. Over time, grips will oxidize, harden, get slick and LOSE THEIR GRIP (sometimes called tacki-ness), especially if you keep your clubs in the truck of you car (which we don’t recommend by the way). You should remember to re-grip your clubs often it will improve your game. Change your grips at least twice each season if you are an average weekend golfer. Does that sound like a lot to you? Did you know that some of the pros change their grips every week? So change your grips and change your game.

Hostels And Other Cheap Accommodations

Hostels have been around in one form or another for a long time. They are oriented towards young travelers and anyone else seeking cheap accommodations. The United States version was originally more complicated, with guests helping with chores, etc. It is much simpler now: you rent a bed instead of a room, sharing the bathroom, living room and kitchen. You have less privacy, but cheaper accomodations, and you get to socialize.

My first time in Quito, Ecuador I stayed at Centro Del Mundo, a hostel near the center of town. $4 per night included breakfast. I shared a room and bathroom with 4 others, and a T.V. room with guests from 14 countries, and channels in three languages. 80 cents got me a rum-and-coke to drink while I played chess with a flower-buyer from Holland. The manager could arrange anything from tours of the snow-covered volcano Cotapaxi, to $2/hour Spanish lessons.

Is A Hostel For You?

I love hostels, but most of you won’t. I like mingling with travelers from around the world. You’re more isolated in a hotel. “Mingling,” of course, could mean sleeping next to a snorer. I’m sure the idea of sharing a room is too much for some people, as is waiting to use the shower. It’s a different experience from staying in a hotel.

Are Hostels Cheap Accomodations?

Even if they were the same price, I’d prefer a hostel to a hotel, but one of the biggest reasons people stay in hostels is to save money. For this, they’re a good option when you’re traveling alone. Since my wife and I travel together now, we don’t stay in hostels often. You pay for two beds, after all, which makes hotels more competitve.

Hostels are not as common in the U.S. as in other countries, unless you include “bed-and-breakfast” places. Theses are, after all, somewhat like high-priced hostels. There are still cheap hostels in almost every state, though. Search Google for hostels, and you’ll find all the information you need.

Other Cheap Accommdations

For cheap accomodations other than hostels, you can try websites, such as Cheap Tickets.com. Remember though, that they only give you rates for the hotels and motels in their system. I just did a search for Tucson, Arizona. Cheap Tickets.com was the easiest to use, and found the best rates. However, I could show you several nice motels here in Tucson that are $15 cheaper than the cheapest rate they found.

Try picking up those coupon books at gas stations along the highways. We’ve almost always found good deals using these. It’s rare that a manager won’t honor the coupon. Generally, only if they’re absolutely full will they refuse. Read the fine print, though, since they often charge more for certain dates, weekends, or for two people.

Another way to get a cheap room is by negotiating. Unfortunately, for some reason, most owners here in the U.S. would rather watch you drive away than knock five bucks off the room rate. This isn’t true in most other countries. My wife and I were in Banos, Ecuador recently, and were told the room would be $12. The room was clean, with cable T.V. and lots of hot water. We paid just $6 per night, paying four nights in advance. The owner understood we were ready to walk away.

European Vacation

A European vacation with your family is one of the most exciting and educational things you can do together. Train travel allows you to see the beautiful countryside in detail, and you can do it at a great discount.

A European vacation has so much to offer, you will have to decide ahead of time what kind of vacation you want. You can travel from Madrid to Paris, then Rome, trying to see all the sights along the way as you rush by. This can be fun because you are seeing and doing so much, there is no way to be bored, and you will remember the trip forever. The downside is that you don’t get to feel as much of the local culture and lifestyle when you are rushing through. Spending some of your European vacation in the same place and getting to know some of the locals can be much more satisfying and relaxing.

It all depends on your personality and what you are looking for in a vacation. A lot of people like to travel by train for their vacation so that they can see more areas, getting great pictures, and they will be able to say they have seen all of those famous landmarks. Some people would rather pick a place and spend the whole time there, really soaking in the atmosphere with their family and getting to know the customs.

Some of you may prefer to combine the two options for a European vacation that I have described above. Pick a city, like Madrid for example. Fly into Madrid, get a nice hotel, and stay there for about a week. There are many beautiful monuments and sights to see, and you can walk around downtown and see them up close and personal. You can eat at some local restaurants, take short day trips to see other areas of the city, and come back to your hotel in the evening.

When your week is up, you can travel by train to continue your European vacation in the sunny southern province of Andalucia. This area of Spain has beaches on both the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The weather is hot and sunny from spring through the fall, and the climate is dry. The beaches are fine, white sand and amazing blue water. Tourists from all over the world, and especially from the rest of Europe, fill these beaches every summer. Take at least a week and find a hotel or villa near the beach. You can spend every day at the beach working on your tan, relaxing in the warm sun, and swimming in the crystal blue waters. The seafood is spectacular in southern Spain, and you will have no problem finding great restaurants with mouth-watering food at great prices. If you like to go out at night, there are more bars and nightclubs than you can possibly visit. You can be sure that you can stay out dancing as long as you want to.

When you are done relaxing in a sunny beach town, you can fly or travel by train to vacation in Paris for a week. There are all kinds of historic sites and museums to see. You can walk or take a bus around to see all of the areas of the city, enjoy French restaurants, and soak in the culture. When you are all done, you can fly home again, knowing that you saw a vast amount of historic and cultural sites, beautiful countryside, and had a great time at the beach relaxing. A little bit of everything, to make your European Vacation complete.

Wait until your friends hear about it!

Graduation Gowns

The years of making a diploma out of sheepskin soon gave way to years of making the diploma out of parchment. Diplomas today are still made out of parchment paper, although they are mass-produced and not handwritten as those of long ago.

Diplomas used to be very large documents, about twice the size as those that we see today. During the beginning of the twentieth century, it became popular to bind the diploma in leather. A diploma was given at that time at the end of grammar school, high school and college graduations.

During the early half of the twentieth century, a diploma was called a “testimonial.” In the United Kingdom, a diploma is still called a testimonial. In the later part of the twentieth century, people in the United States began to refer to the document that one received upon graduating from a learning institution as a diploma, after the Greek word meaning the attainment of higher education.

Europe, Asia and other parts of the world, diplomas are given to those who attain higher degrees of education. A diploma can either be presented as rolled up parchment and tied with a ribbon, or in a leather binder. In some high school graduations throughout the country, the student does not receive the actual diploma until after graduation and only receives the binder. This is to insure the return of the cap and gown.

One thing that has remained the same throughout history with regard to diplomas is the pride that they invoke in the receiver. Diplomas are often framed and hung in places where everyone can see them. High school diplomas are usually kept by parents. College and postgraduate diplomas are usually kept by the individual and hung in their office. Those who earn law and doctorate degrees usually hang their diplomas on their wall in their office, signifying to the world that they can practice law or medicine.

CDC Reinstates Travel Alert for Toronto

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reinstated a travel alert for Toronto, Canada, because of reports of new possible cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).

CDC lifted the travel alert on May 20, 2003, because more than 30 days (or three SARS incubation periods) had elapsed since the date of onset of symptoms for the last reported case. However, on May 22, Canadian health officials reported a cluster of five new probable SARS cases, which led to today’s reinstatement of CDC’s travel alert for Toronto.

In response to the outbreak of SARS, CDC has issued two types of notices to travelers: advisories and alerts. A travel advisory recommends that non-essential travel to an area be postponed. A travel alert does not advise against travel to a particular area, but informs travelers of a health concern and provides advice about precautions they can take to reduce their risk of exposure.

CDC is again recommending that U.S. travelers to Toronto take precautions to safeguard their health. These include avoiding settings where there has been evidence of transmission of SARS, such as health care settings. CDC does not recommend the routine use of masks or other personal protective equipment while in public areas.

Global Migration and Quarantine officials from CDC will again be distributing health alert cards to travelers returning to the United States from Toronto. The cards outline the symptoms of SARS and recommend that people returning from Toronto monitor their health for 10 days and alert their physician if they develop a fever or respiratory symptoms, such as a cough or shortness of breath.

CDC also recommends that travelers to Toronto practice careful hand hygiene – a first line of defense for reducing an individual’s risk of a variety of infectious diseases, such as SARS. As a general rule, CDC recommends frequent hand washing with soap and water. If hands are not visibly soiled, alcohol-based hand rubs may be used as an alternative.

Anyone planning travel to Toronto should be aware of the current SARS outbreak, stay informed daily about SARS through various Websites, including www.cdc.gov/ncidod/sars/ and www.who.int, and closely follow recommended travel advisories and infection control guidance at www.cdc.gov/ncidod/sars/ic.htm.

Catch a Wave the Hawaii Way

When you’re on the deck of your cruise ship off the coast of Hawaii, you may just catch a glimpse of some dedicated surfers riding on top of a tall wave. Watch the sun beat down on their glistening backs as the sea spray hits their tanned faces.

Hawaii is a surfer’s paradise. The Pacific, after all, is where surfing originated and became almost an art. Hawaiians used to have a strict social class order called “kapu”. The kapu system of laws separated royal Hawaiians from commoners.

Surfing was a big part of traditional Hawaiian culture, and kapu law determined where people could surf, how big their surfboards were, and even what materials boards could be made out of. Of course, Hawaiian royalty had the best and biggest boards, as well as the choicest surfing spots. And, it wasn’t just the men who had all the surfing fun. Some of the women surfed too.

When early Europeans sailed to Hawaii, they had difficulty understanding what this water sport was all about. Riding huge waves on thin boards seemed strange to them.

Surfing eventually died out as Hawaii became a U.S. colony. However, a few passionate “beachboys” refused to give up their birthright.

In the 20th century, surfing experienced a re-birth as adventure-seeking Americans began to catch on to this exhilarating sport. Now surfing is more popular than ever, and even has it’s own surf culture.

Modern surfers have simply discovered what the ancient Hawaiians knew all along – how good it feels to catch a big wave.

The Recent Breathtaking World of Liquid Crystal Display TVs

With the degree of change happening in TV technology in recent times it is necessary to comprehend a number of the most significant developments. This information to liquid crystal display tellies (LCD) examines the specific benefits of the equipment. This information brings you all the essential facts on how to get the finest picture & provides an explanation on numerous of the most important elements to remember when it comes to LCD TVs. Locate top brand Cheap 26″ LCD TV at Sound and Vision!

There are presently two key benefits with Liquid Crystal Display TVs over Plasma tellies. The first is that they can perhaps be extensively easier to view when measured to a traditional cathode ray tube (CRT) television. This is principally because TV screens are significantly brighter with a high contrast and flicker free picture. Liquid Crystal Display TVs on average work as it should in more or less any manner of condition from bright to ambient. Next, LCDs have a greater native resolution than plasma tellies of the identical size making them great for high-definition output. Whilst plasma TVs are are today superior for sheer display size, as more & more television channels come in hi-definition TV (HDTV), LCD units will come to the forefront.

How LCD Televisions Actually Work?

LCD products are rather tricky & growing all the time. This technology is based upon the fact that liquid crystals are, in their daily form, warped. The ability of the crystals to let light through can be modified by applying electric voltage. Very basically put, a light source is passed through a liquid that contains crystals held amid two polarised displays. By allowing the exact measure of light to go through, the needed picture is formed.

Best Time to Visit Disney World

When deciding on the best time for you and your family to visit Disney World, the main issue is usually the crowds. When visiting any major theme park, you are going to experience large crowds; And since Disney World is the most popular theme park in the world, there is hardly a day at the park without large crowds. If you do your research, you can find certain times of the year, January and September for example, that are less busy at Disney World. Even though you may enjoy shorter lines during these times, there are downsides to going at these less busy times of the year. For one, Disney has more festivities planned during certain times of the year like Christmas and New Years. For many people, it is worth fighting the crowds to be at Disney World during these times of major festivities.

Crowds are not the only factor when deciding on the best time to visit Disney World. It is also a good idea to take the weather into account. Many people assume that any time of the year is perfect weather in Florida but that is definitely not the case. The summer time can bring extreme heat and severe thunderstorms to the Orlando area that can ruin your day at Disney World. The brief showers are usually a great time to go inside and take a break. Some of the best weather at Disney World comes in the evening with mild temperatures so make sure to rest up during the day so you’re ready to go out at night.

Other tips to keep in mind when planning a trip to Disney World:

- If you are ok with taking your kids out of school for a trip, do it! Any time other kids are at school is a great time to go to Disney World because you can expect smaller crowds and shorter lines

- Keep a close eye on park opening and closing times so you can take advantage of late nights and early starts

- Two weeks after the Thanksgiving holiday is a great time to go to Disney World because the crowds are minimal and the Christmas decorations are already up.

So when is the best time to go to Disney World? When it’s called the happiest place on Earth, every day of the year is the best time to go.

Is debt consolidation right for you?

Is debt consolidation right for you?

You may have heard all types of wives tales about debt consolidation. Some of them portray it as the quickest way to deal with your debts. Others conjure up a worrying picture of escalating debts that leads inevitably to financial disaster.

The real situation probably rests somewhere in-between. Consolidating your debt may or may not be the best way for you to get out of debt. It all depends on a variety of factors: not just how much debt you have, but how much you earn and what kind of debts you’re thinking about clearing, as well as your attitude to debt and to money in general.

DO – Do talk to a few different debt advisers if you’re thinking about pursuing debt consolidation. You need someone who can help you explore your options, so make sure you talk to an adviser that doesn’t just offer consolidation loans. Maybe all you need is some advice on budgeting more effectively, so you can manage your debts yourself.

DON’T – Don’t continue fighting if you really can’t afford to pay your creditors each month. If it’s obvious you need help, ask for it – a debt consultant should be able to help you decide whether you need a professional debt solution, and if so, which one.

AC Power Adapters – Do I Really Need Them?

By now you have decided where you want to go and if you have read my ac adapter article you know whether or not you need to bring along some ac power adapters. Unfortunately, like many things in life, there are no exact rules governing travel adapters.

I recommend bringing power adapters even if you know your destination uses the same kind of ac plug. Many tropical vacation destinations only have power outlets without a ground. Therefore if you have a grounded plug (like on your laptop) you will need an ac power adapter to convert it for a non-grounded outlet. North Americans please remember that many of your appliances with non-grounded plugs are polarized. (ie. They can only fit in one way). You may need an ac wall adapter in many countries as their outlets will not accept polarized plugs.

If you are traveling to Great Britain you should be extra careful about which ac adapters you bring. Britain doesn’t have a standardized system for ac adaptors and actually have several different kinds of wall outlets, so you may need to purchase a travel adapter once you reach your hotel. If you do, you can find foreign plug adapters at the local hardware store.

These ac wall adapters are relatively cheap and I recommend bringing several with you. Power adapters are easy to lose and fellow travelers will want to borrow an adapter from you. Always carry at least one ac adapter with you at all times – maybe in your backpack – because you don’t want to be caught without a power adapter when you need it. And please don’t forget these electrical adapter plugs do NOT convert electricity. Please take a look at my Power Converter page for more information.
