This modest trendy town of Wandsworth can be found on the southwest side of London. The name comes from the Wandle River which enters Thames. The town is made up of Battersea, Balham, Nine Elms, Earlsfield, Roehampton, Putney, Tooting and Southfields. Locals benefit from many bars, cafes and restaurants. Cinema and pubs are also popular. In the earlier times, the beer was transported to local pubs in barrels by drays pulled by shire horses. In 2006, this company merged with Charles Wells of Bedford. A new site is being planned for the brewery, but the residents are not happy to see the brewery leave its home.
Transportation
The Wandsworth Town railway station is one of the principal modes of transportation in the town. Many residents make use of the trains to go to London Waterloo, Richmond, Ascot, Bracknell and Reading. An extensive bus system is also available too. For people interested in traveling by car, A3, A205 South Circular and Trinity Road are a couple of the most important roads of the area.
Crimes
Crimes range from fraud to assault. Compared to the other 6 surrounding boroughs, the area has the second highest homicide rate.
