The Scoop Concerning Sydney Botox

B.tox is now popular amongst smart Sydney society and has become an important part of grooming for many in Sydney. But I am frequently stunned by the rumours about this routine treatment.

Here are a selection of the popular mistakes that I come across all the time in Star Cosmetic Medicine, where I work as a physician.

For more advice, you are advised to take a look at our exceptional page for Botulinum injections Sydney hints!

Delusion # 1: I will not have the ability to express emotion normally!

Below the skin of the face are around 60 muscles. The facial muscles ordinarily work in harmony, however from continued movement fine lines may form. If an excess of B.tox has been injected the muscles of expression may occasionally become a liile bit less expressive. Most doctors would use relatively low quantities to are designed to make you appear ‘refreshed’, but still you will of course maintain your facial expression.

By injecting a carefully calculated quantity of the B.tox in exactly the right muscles one will accomplish a smoothing of any wrinkles without reducing facial expression.

Delusion # 2: B.tox is a toxic substance!
This to a small extent is right. Its pharmaceutical term is Botulinum Toxin Type A. An overdose can end up in a decrease in muscle tone and may even cause sickness.

Pharmacists have an old phrase ‘everything is a poison – all depending on the dose’. A large dose of any medicine can induce illness. If you drink too great a quantity of water you will die.

Delusion # 3: B.tox injections will be painful!
The hypodermic needles we use at Star Cosmetic Medicine have a diameter less than a human hair. Numerous people have said that the treatments are not as painful as bug bites. It is unquestionably not as painful as a procedure like a blood test.

Delusion # 4: My face will feel numb!
Completely incorrect. Botulinum medicine works principally on the neuromuscular junction, and not on sensate nerve fibers. B.tox just affects the relaxation of muscular tissues.

Delusion # 5. You must keep getting B.tox or else the wrinkles become even worse!
This is also false.

You can expect B.tox to last for up to 3 months. Any further injections after the initial one should be effective for a few weeks more. Eventually as muscle strength builds up again, the lines will return little by little. But they will definitely not be any more noticeable than before.

In fact any lines will generally be less evident than if you had never had B.tox – even should you never repeat the therapy. This, of course is typically the case because your facial muscles and skin have had a ‘wrinkle holiday’ for a few months.
