Your Child’s Development and Music

As the ma of a two years old, I’m always hunting for activities that inspire learning and development. I find that almost all of the activities we do together that may result in learning are only by coincidence and luck not by any skill or coaching I have. As of late, my child has shown a genuine keenness for music. He has even started to distinguish between styles of music he dislikes and likes his preferences are Latest Christian and Country, naturally those both fall behind any song done by The Shakes .
The point is, he’s drawn to music and feels the requirement to express himself in several tactics when he hears it. For example, he has learned different dance moves from the TV characters on his fave programs in addition to from good old mom and pop. He’s using his creativeness and memory to express himself, which I think is helping build his personality. He claps to the music and tries his best to keep a rhythm. These are all wonderful skills that he’s learning and using in his very own individual way.
This is a discovery age where youngsters start to graduate from simply imitating to mixing what they know in methods to engage with the world around them.
These activities are inspiring many aspects of development : physical ( clapping, stomping, other dance motions ) social ( a method for him to engage with those around him ) cognitive ( he’s bridging paths from what he is learned to how he would like to make use of the info to express his very own character ), emotional ( a definite sense of pride accompanies all kinds of learning in youngsters ). If your youngster enjoys music, you can give them some encouragement by creating music freely available for them without needing to spend a huge amount. I’d guess they already have toys which make music. Plenty of books play music also.
Even just turning on the radio during the day and finding a station that’s acceptable for you both can be an especially rewarding experience. Whether your youngster is hearing music on telly, radio, or from an instrument you are playing, he / she has so many chances for learning. Capture those moments and get the most from them!
